Cheers to It All

Random musings of a southern girl attempting to do it all.

This Sunday Milly and I took on a sunny 4 miles. Who knew these short scruffy legs could handle it, but she did like a champ. This little rescue pup has made all of our days a little brighter. An added bonus is having a newfound running buddy.

So it’s a New Year (yes, I’m a little behind on this). Since starting this blog was one of my resolutions I figured sharing the rest of my resolutions would hold me to them and give me that push I need! Cheers!

1) Start this blog-CHECK!
2) Try my best to stop spreading myself too thin! Do this by planning date nights, workouts, girl time & sticking to them.
3) Eat healthy & clean. One cheat day is fine, but not cheat weekends.
4) Loosen up and slow down.
5) Travel and take on new adventures with my husband. Even if they’re in our own backyard.
6) Sweat once a day and make it a habit that goes with me into 2015 and beyond. Every now and then try to make this something I get a friend or J to join me on. Boxing, running, a hike…it all counts.
7) 2 half marathons and 1 full! Keep pushing to get to my 50 full/half marathons by 50.
8) Attempt yoga, as it may help with #4 as well.
9) Be a better listener. Sounds simple, but when your brain goes 90 to nothing it’s hard!
10) Wake up earlier each day so I’m not scrambling around! The mornings where I have 15 or 30 minutes to enjoy coffee and the Today Show are always better days. Remember this when reaching for snooze.
11) Make my faith more of a priority. Find a church, get involved, and go consistently.
12) Make a point to do things to help others. Volunteer in our community with J so we feel connected and like we’re making a difference.

Welcome 2014…I’m very ready to celebrate you for 347 days to come!
